The Itch To Ditch The Mundane

February 12, 2016 by Comments

Mindfulness_Exercises_ To_Learn_How_Magical_You_Are My youngest is turning 17 soon.  About to drive in 10 days.  He’s taking another big step towards flying the coop….

It’s making me start to realize that soon both kids will be out on their own and I will have more ME BE time to focus on birthing my own wings to follow passions that have been taking a back seat these many years.

Love and honor the journey of supporting them, but as many parents will attest to, there’s a shitload of the mundane running a home and raising a family that can try your patience and your purpose.

This year in particular I was feeling a strong itch to ditch the mundane, impatient for something new and exciting. Maybe getting so because my youngest is about to become more independent and I can feel and taste the new “me” also getting ready to birth.

Then this morning I get this quote in my email box:

Possessing the audacity to do the mundane, Ali, while expecting miracles to come from it, explains every heroic and supernatural feat known to humankind.

Audaciously,
    The Universe

So I write to remind all you other parents out there involved in the daily mundane that you are heroic. There is no greater job than being the wind beneath your children’s wings, no matter how mundane or boring, or uneventful, or challenging (!) it may seem.  Parenting IS the miracle.  It’s how we serve.  It’s how we reflect the divine energy of God.

Audaciously,

Ali

Parenting is not a job for the faint-hearted!! It is a total emersion of one s ego-self into the needs of your child . That is unconditional love. So far , I have only seen dogs with that quality!! Humans don't have that yet!! So we do the best we can with the emotional knowledge we have and hope for the best…with differing opinions , differing styles, differing results based on the evolution of the souls we are and the souls who have chosen us to parent them. What a crap shoot!!
