Ali and a dude, both in their 50’s get into an elevator together. Riding down from the 40th floor of a NYC apartment building…

 

Ali:  Wow, that’s some beard you got there!

Dude:  Thanks!  My son actually made me grow it out.

Ali: How old is he?

Dude:  Ten.

Ali:  How cute.

Dude:  Yeah, he told me it was time for me to grow it out.

Ali:  Did he say why?

Dude:  He said it was just “so me” to have a long beard.

Ali:  At ten?  That’s a pretty wise kid – to see you and honor who you are at such a young age.

Dude:  He is pretty cool if I say so myself.  I just told him don’t be expecting Christmas presents in the summer though now that I look like Santa.

 

Ali laughs.  

Ali: In this weather, does it make you sweat a lot having so much hair on your face?  I don’t have any hair on my face and I become a sweat factory in this humidity.

Dude:  Let’s put it this way.  I have no hair on my head, so it kind of balances things out.

 

Ali laughs again. The elevator reaches the ground floor..

 

Ali: Well, thanks for the conversation and you have a great day.

Dude:  Yes, you too!

 

The dude leaves the elevator.  A woman gets in with a dog before Ali can leave.  Ali decides to stay in the elevator and take another ride….

 

Ali: Wow!  That’s a really cute dog you got there!
