Patience My Dear!

A couple of days ago I pull one of my Goddess Cards (written by Doreen Virtue) and it tells me to get quiet and listen.

“What?” thought I, “I’m not in the “moooooood. I have so many things I want to do today!” I already did my “quiet time/set my tone” activities for the day. It’s springtime and I am feeling ready to rock and roll and move out of hibernation mode. Why didn’t I pick the Goddess card that tells me to go out and seek my fortune???  Now that’s where I’m at….

BUT – since I have over the years seen the value and relevance of these card messages with not just myself, but with many others, I decided to do a 15 minute quiet time meditation.

Unexpectedly during the meditation I downloaded the Shiftitude for patience (above). Then, I heard the thought “you can’t experience patience unless you have faith.”  Hmmm.  Patience and faith.  I was thinking about this and realizing that you can’t really have one without the other. They go together like “Like rama lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong!”

Patience isn’t just a virtue, it’s a necessary attitude/emotional choice we make to support and enliven our faith! And isn’t faith really all about patience?  Patience in KNOWING that even though something or someone or some goal hasn’t shown up yet, that it will!  Patience in KNOWING that within the invisible is all of the possibilities that we are asking for – as long as we are patient?

SO…when we show patience with our children, our loved ones, friends and strangers, time after time, again and again, isn’t this just another way of showing them that we have faith in them?  Faith that they will step up to fulfill their personal journey,  faith that they will act with intergrity and accountability, faith that they will take responsibility for their actions and choices, and faith that they are unconditionally loved?

Patience and Faith: they go together like “Like rama lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong!”
